Sapling Press is a letterpress design and print shop founded in 2003 and grounded in the steel city of Pittsburgh. The shop houses seven presses, the occasional furry friend and a playlist that just won’t quit.
“The ideas are printed out, and everyone is asked to read them on their own and simply make a note as soon as one makes you laugh out loud. Those are always our winners.”
Want more of a backstory? Can do. Lisa Krowinski started this business while working as a graphic designer in Baltimore. After setting type for four hours in the home studio of a local printer, her fate was sealed. “I had no plan, zero product and absolutely no idea how to run a business – I just went for it.”
